Mark JohnsonMJCopywriting is run by Mark Johnson, a specialist, freelance copywriter. I’m passionate about what I do and I love working with people who love what they do. Every day, I support professional communicators with fresh, inspiring copy that helps them tell the story of their organization better.

I’ve worked with some of the world’s largest organisations, as well as many ambitious, smaller brands. Each project has been driven by great storytelling. That’s because I believe that all marketing, when it is done properly, is about storytelling. It’s one of the reasons I was asked to be an expert contributor to the highly successful business book: How to Succeed as a Freelancer in Publishing.

A partnership approach

I treat every client relationship as a partnership. I want you to succeed and I’ll do everything I can to make that happen. I have many successful partnerships with communications professionals around the world. From heads of communications to designers, each of them knows they can contact me at any time and receive rapid support from a trusted partner.

Life before copywriting

Before becoming a freelance copywriter, I worked in London and Hong Kong as a magazine editor for the UK's largest independent magazine publisher, Haymarket. Later, as a freelance journalist, my work appeared in: The Financial Times, The Guardian, PRWeek, Campaign, Marketing and the South China Morning Post.
I’m based in Suffolk in the UK, speak English and Cantonese (Chinese), and recently began fulfilling a life-long ambition to learn to play the cello.
